Future Golden Knight Joins The Braves
    July 26th, 2011

Jason Hawkins announces another signing by the Brockville Braves. After a long drawn out negotiation session, David Ferreira of Riverside NJ has signed with the Brockville Braves.

    Birthdate: Oct 27, 1993
    Class: Junior
    Home: Riverside, NJ
    Position: F
    Height: 5'9"
    Weight: 180

David is a 2013 commit to Clarkson University in Potsdam NY. Last year he played with the talent laden Team Comcast in the AYHL, Tier I Major Midget.

    Player Stats
Year (Div) GP G A PTS PP SH PIM
    2010/2011 Team Comcast (MM) U18 40 16 11 27 3 0 34
    TOTALS: 40 16 11 27 3 0 34

David’s hockey future and opportunities were option loaded. With the DI commit to Clarkson in his back pocket he was chased by several Tier I teams. He was offered a position in the BCHL league, but the 17 year old (turns 18 in October) has opted to stay a little closer to home and closer to his future academic home, Clarkson University.

Although not an easy commute for his parents, it is less than a days drive and certainly much closer for new Clarkson coach, Casey Jones, to keep his eye on his future player.

David will be joining the Braves when they hit the ice in earnest come August 22.

    Welcome to Brockville, David.

            Welcome to the Golden Knights!
            Recently acquired by Sioux City..
            10/21/11
Sioux City will test out the recently acquired Jordan Boucher-Gould tonight. Added to the team's roster on Wednesday, Boucher-Gould is a forward who was exchanged from the NAHL's New Mexico Mustangs for defenseman Kiril Vorobyev. Boucher-Gould totaled more than 130 points for Omaha AAA 16-U of the NAPHL in 2010-11. He had eight points (3 goals, 5 assists) in 11 games with New Mexico before the trade.
"I'm going to play him and give him a chance to get a feel for this league right away," said Larson. "I like his offensive creativity and skill. He's a guy who should give us offensive pop and make plays. He has a good stick."

James De Haas of the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots has been named runner-up to Devin Shore (Maine) as OJHL Top Prospect. The 17-year old rearguard led all Patriots defencemen in scoring during his rookie season with 29 points in 45 games played. The totals also placed him top 20 among all OJHL defencemen, while his 10 goals was the fifth best total.

The OJHL Most Valuable Player Award recipient will be announced later this week.

James was born in '94. I'm pretty sure I have some shirts and sweaters that are at least that old. Way to go, kid!

Tyler Briggs of the Lloydminster Bobcats is the Top Goaltender for 2011-2012 AJHL season. Briggs will be presented with the Friends of Alberta Junior Hockey League Trophy by League President Craig T. Cripps on February 25th. The Top Goaltender Award is awarded to the goaltender who demonstrated the greatest ability in his position throughout the season as voted on by the League General Managers and Coaches.

Tyler Briggs posted a 1.98 GAA, a .914 Save Percentage and recorded 4 shutouts during the regular season. Briggs has set new franchise records for Lowest GAA and Most Shutouts in a Single Season.
