Not related to the hockey programs, but thought people might want to know. Ithaca College announced yesterday they are leaving the Empire 8 conference (that they've been in for 40 years) and joining the Liberty League. I don't know how many schools will be in the LL once the change takes effect (which is a year or two away) but it always good to be adding programs.

I don't think the Empire 8 is going to be around much longer. The more in the Liberty League, the better. More umpiring opportunities for me.

Interesting. Wasn't Ithaca also a member of the ICAC along with RPI, Clarkson, SLU, etc. starting around 1970?

Yes, they were. They joined the Empire 8 in the mid-70s I think (the story I read said they were in the Empire 8 for 40-ish years)

It appears one of our ECAC and Liberty League partners has some Financial Issues.

Shirley believes in spending money that isn't there. Of course, a lot of it goes to her salary.

I suspect from the smileys that you know that immediately prior to being named the President of RPI, she was the Chairman on the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

It's nice to see us ranked #4 but when exactly did he visit Lynah? I've been to just about every ECAC and HEA arena and nothing compares to Lynah with the exception of a CCT/SLU playoff game.

Lynah has gotten worse and worse over the last decade. The school did away with "The Line" so it's not just the devoted hardcore fans that get tickets anymore. Its a lottery, so anyone can get them. It is far, far less intimidating than you remember. Not 48th, but certainly not top 10 anymore.

                              Bizarro lacrosse conferences

Wonder if hockey will ever go the way of lacrosse and lose its regional conferences. Today's conference championship games in lacrosse are Denver vs. Marquette in the Big East, and Maryland vs. Rutgers in the Big Ten.
