Ceglarski spent his first 14 seasons coaching Clarkson, leading the Golden Knights to a 254-97-10 record that included four NCAA tournament berths and three title games.

I was reading some of the bios and was wondering how Len Ceglarski became the Clarkson head coach in 1958. Seems like his only prior coaching experience was four years at high school in Walpole, Mass. Also back in those days, Boston and Potsdam were sort of at opposite ends of the earth, so it seems very unusual for a Boston kid (with little coaching experience at that) to come up to the northern hinterland to coach Clarkson. Maybe some of the old (make that real old) timers can help?

Am quite sure Bill Harrison had a lot to do with it. He also taught and coached at Walpole High School before coming to Clarkson.

A life well lived. Loved him as a coach. Even liked him as a phys-ed instructor.
