Hopefully the coaching staff gets them out of the $hit storm in Omaha..... Very bad culture, USHL and USA hockey stepping in.

Neither player is doing all that well. Gillespie 13 games 2 goals 1 asst.

Gardner only 7 games 2 goals 0 asst.

Maybe it is because they are younger than most of the other players.

Because of the disaster with the Omaha Lancers franchise, Gardner left the program and is Playing with Warroad HS in Minn.

Many stud MN HS kids play USHL until the HS season starts, then play HS and return to the USHL once the HS season is complete. It's a win-win situation for everyone.

Ty Campbell commited today. 16 year old has 14 points in 35 games for the Smiths Falls Bears of the CCHL. For sure a 2023-24, or roughly a 2024-25.

team will be back to 90% Canadian in 2 years. Just the way Jones likes it.

Considering how our best players are usually Canadian I’d prefer this. We can’t even sniff dipping into Buffalo/CD/Cuse/NYC/Rochester and getting any decent player that is being sought after by B1G/HE/NCHC schools. There could be an argument made that being so close to the border is the only reason we aren’t a full D3 school at this point.

please don't tell small schools schools like Union,Quinnpiac and Denver they aren't supposed to be good either

Denver and Quinnipiac are both all D1 schools, anyone can win but you have to do it your own way, we aren’t getting the Cuse kids like Farabee, Tuch, or Jack Dugan from Rochester, there are endless examples, essentially once they get to the NTDP it seems all consideration to Clarkson is gone, Greenway, Powell on BC now. That’s a completely acceptable reality we aren’t going to compete with BC, BU, Michigan, North Dakota for any prized recruit regardless of where they are from, I think Weller was our last NTDPer. Clarkson brought in Hauge and he expanded our reach with Minnesota kids/USHL teams in general, now that has been established it’d be arrogant to not continue that trend. But most of our USHL guys that become impactful here are Canadians that are imports there. Recruiting comes down to opportunity if there’s a Minnesota kid being told he has the inside track to a top 6 role here and he’s not getting that elsewhere then his support group is probably going to advise him to come here despite being far from home. With all that said Canadians are still going to always contribute to our success, ultimately where they are from does not matter, how they contribute to the program does.
