Honestly, is there one player on this roster that would be a big loss in the transfer portal?

Do we really think the school, down enrollment, supposedly suffering for money is going to get rid of a coach that is one of the highest paid employees at the university and would force the university to most likely pay the buyout plus then pay the new coach, and in a nice reality could take advantage of the NCAA rule to have a 3rd assistant. I just don’t see that being practical. Still in shock how bad we actually are, confidence is low, the understanding of line mates is the bare minimum, and the structure of which we play with is disjointed, the culture of the program has done a complete 360.

Next years team needs to spend a week simply passing the puck with no one trying to shoot. Passing has never been in "the bucket's" playbook, but Badger Bob Johnson lived by it...and won many championships and awards because of it.
As for your earlier comments about draft selections and forwards, go look at Mankato and see that the entire team is undrafted...yet, in a more difficult conference, they have 2x more wins than losses. Good players that can gel and play together, line after line, using a system that features getting open to take higher percentage shots is what this team needs. We do not need more glamour, but we need staff who know how to accomplish a far better offensive system that the 11 year "project" we've lived with watching.
I know.... give them one more chance.
Life is too short for that.

My concern is for the hockey program. If they don't clearly see the fact that Casey's program isn't working and that he's done a terrible job creating a team post-COVID, then something is wrong. You can line up a mile of excuses but that doesn't excuse the fact that many similar programs at schools at just as much of a disadvantage are excelling. Clarkson never fully recovered it's fan base from the end of the Roll era and it's at risk of losing even more by letting Casey coach long past his expiration date. This team has been on a downward spiral since 2020 and signing Casey to a 3 year extension might have been the worst idea ever.

attempts to rationalize aside, they have all quit!
That is not resources, recruiting or systems. This is
we don’t want to play for this guy. Think Bruce Cassidy
Good coach, stuck in the past. B’s bring in a new coach
boom, they are off to the races. Cassidy goes to LV, they tank.
same players on both teams , much different results.

This was known to be coming after the state decided that it was going to create an incentive for students to go to state schools. None of that is my concern.

My mother said a couple days ago that even SUNY's enrollment is down 20%. I see there is a new "Healthcare" major at Tech that looks like a complete joke. They are really diluting here and it looks bad. Once schools start doing stuff like this, the end is nigh. It shows they are circling the drain and scrambling, and schools usually aren't able to climb out.
Maybe it's time to kill the hockey program, and the athletic dept except for the gym and rec/clubs. Yes, I'm a former CU athlete. For the foreseeable future, it looks like continuing to pour good money after bad with no improvement or return in sight.
A 4-0 loss to a squad of Yalies that looked like a bunch of junior high kids when I walked by them on the sidewalk a few weeks ago is unacceptable. End of.TCS '96, CU '00
