      At RIT January 5th per their schedule release. I would guess Canisius on the reverse.

          Lake Superior State confirmed in Potsdam Friday night Oct 27, per their schedule release (pasted below). Kind of forgot about the SLU-LSSU national championship game in 1988.

          The Lakers will then travel to Upstate New York where they will split the weekend against a pair of ECAC foes. On Friday, Oct. 27, LSSU will take on the Clarkson Golden Knights after splitting a two-game series in Taffy Abel Arena this past season, a 4-3 overtime loss after the Lakers came back from down two goals in the closing minutes with freshman Connor Milburn (Kamloops, B.C.) tying the game with 1.7 seconds remaining in regulation as well as a 5-1 LSSU victory the following day that resulted in captain Louis Boudon (Grenoble, France) being named the CCHA Forward of the Week. After the game, the Lakers will then travel to nearby Canton, N.Y. to close out the weekend against St. Lawrence. LSSU took down the Saints by a score of 7-1 in their last matchup in Oct. 2021, but the most notable meeting between the two programs came in 1988 where a 4-3 Laker victory in overtime gave LSSU their first NCAA National Championship.

                Jones already revealed the incoming class a few weeks ago so I would assume he meant one of the transfers or the player never came in.

                    Here's what we have so far.

                    Michigan Tech x1
                    LSSU x1
                    ADK Winter Invitational x2
                    @RIT x1
                    @Canisius x1

                    If anyone has any other information, please tell. I am assuming it's Canisius on the reverse for RIT because Niagara has another team scheduled the first weekend in January.

                      Is Tech doing NIL money for the athletes?

                        I don't believe that schools are making direct payments to athletes relative to NIL - instead it is third parties who are signing athletes to equivalent of endorsement deals. Where the schools are involved is the "full cost of attendance" - an extra payment for travel costs and other miscellaneous expenditures. I'm thinking I've heard that the amounts can be in the area of $5K per athlete. I don't believe Tech has the budget to pay "full cost of attendance".

                          It’s really up to the athletes and businesses to form a partnership. The schools aren’t really supposed to be involved but just made aware.

                            Penn State and other Power 5 schools have off school "foundations" that are providing/recieving the $$ to the NIL and then to the athletes. Money talks and if you can make an extra 5-7 figures on the side from an NIL that school have a big advantage in the recruiting wars.

                              The IRS just ruled that contributions to NIL foundations are not tax deductible. Will probably slow down the influx of funds. NIL seems to be a top priority for the new NCAA President, Charlie Baker

                                The best way for Tech to combat the NIL money of the B1G schools is to bring in a coaching staff that does the best to develop players from start to finish of their careers. It may not bring in the "blue chip" recruits but seeing guys graduate and then go professional at or above their level of initial "potential" would help with recruiting tremendously. Unfortunately, there is no recent evidence (other than Sturm) that indicates that our coaching staff can build players for the next level.
