I've done my best to discern what I'm looking at on the quick facts sheet, and only could come up with a guess at best.

There's a discrepancy from the quick facts numbers and the actual roster from last year. Quick facts shows 22 players, the roster had 27. I'm wondering if the discrepancy has something to do with players that are walk ons. The goaltending discrepancy made me wonder this.

We show 2 returning, 1 leaving... 3 goalies. But, we had 4. I'm assuming Pasiechnyk and Minotti are locks to return next season. I also doubt there's any chance the team rolls with only 2 goalies on the roster. If 1 goalie is departing, I'd assume one of Madrid or Gruber decided to move on, and the other is perhaps a walk on that doesn't have a guaranteed spot until the season starts?


Taking a look at the 22-23 roster:

Forwards (15): David, Kirwan, Fahrny, Goodwin, Bogden, Frenette, K. McQuigge (F/D), Branton, Ham, Cherkowski, Catterall, B. McQuigge, Lappan, Lessard, Petrie.

Defenders (8): Winn, Markowski, Proulx, Hanson, Swiderski, Hull (F/D), Gosling, Wisnewski.

Goaltenders (4): Pasiechnyk, Madrid, Minotti, Gruber.


***We had 23 skaters and 4 goalies, while quick facts shows 19 skaters and 3 goalies. We have 4 skaters and 1 goalie not accounted for.***

I'm wondering if the 4 skaters not accounted for are Proulx, Fahrny, Hull and Ham. I remember not recalling them as recruits when they were introduced as part of their incoming classes. Same with both Madrid and Gruber, though Gruber transferred in just this past year.


Assumed Departures: 5

Definite: David, Hanson, Markowski.
Transfer Portal: Wisnewski, Fahrny.

I'm assuming those are 5 of the 9. I think we can safely assume one of Madrid or Gruber is leaving, I'm guessing Madrid since Gruber dressed more and just transferred in. That leaves 3 skaters. I'm guessing those 3 come from a combination of:

Proulx
Hull
Ham
Lessard (graduated early)


Confirmed Newcomers: 7

Transfers: Guay (D), Hicks (F)
Freshmen: Hurry (D), Laidlaw (F), Morissette (F), Stevenson (F), Storey (F)

5 Forwards, 2 Defenders incoming... with 3 unknowns. I doubt Frenette counted as a "newcomer" on the quick facts, but maybe Petrie is being counted since she's never suited up for tech? If so, still 2 unknowns.

Are those other 2-3 skaters prospects like Fahrny, Ham, Proulx and Hull?

Either way, no idea how right I am, just a wild guess. Does anyone know for sure? I'm definitely interested to see how this shakes out and if the team can close the gap with some of the other ECAC programs that appear to be pulling away from us a bit in recent years.

You know what has always been strange to me? The team admins schedule games years out. Why does it take so long to send out the schedule?

Princeton's schedule release gives us our first dates of the seaaon. We will host them the last week of october and be in New Jersey in february.
